ssh through SOCKS proxy

If you cannot access the internet directly you can tunnel your ssh connection through a SOCKS proxy.

Bart wrote a how-to in his blog. It works great on Mac OSX, but it’s working the same way on other *nix.

JBoss Messaging Connection Problems on Mac OSX

If u discover some problems with connecting to a jboss messaging server like the stacktrace below try to solve it with a proxy override of the jms server. This worked for us on Mac OSX with set proxies for all sort of protocols.
